BIRDIE. R&B SINGER.
Birdie has been criticized at times for her love of soul music, her use of
rap, her sometimes aggressive approach to lyrics and her emotionally charged
vocals style. Fearless and undaunted, she ignores these critics and
continues to make music her way. Birdie’s debut album Underground Pop:

ROYAL LAO CLASSICAL DANCE
TROUPE. PRESERVING LAO CULTURE.
In Nashville, Tennessee, there is a gem that most people do not know
about. Feet graze the temple floor and hands protrude to the sky in a
backward and forward motion. Females that range from the age of 5 to
motherhood are demonstrating an art form known as Fon, a unique dance to
Laotians and Thais.
To the Laotians, “Fon” is a symbol of beauty and grace. The music’s rhythmic
pulses accompany the lively, deliberate movement that tells an archaic story
rooted in the native land. The dancers have painted, smiling faces and are
dressed in costumes that pop out in colors such as red, green, gold, silver
and bright blue. Gold and silver ethnic jewelry adorn the dancers’ neck and
for a moment, the audience is captivated by the ancient art of “fon” that
has been performed for centuries. The Royal Lao Dance Troupe of Nashville,
Tennessee is the embodiment of this gem.

birth to a triplet called the Maintenance Crew. The Maintenance Crew
consists of Chantalism (Laotian), Ubiqity (Mexican), and Kash
(Cambodian/Thai), who despite having different ethnic backgrounds, found
commonalities in their music and struggles, growing up in Chicago, Illinois.
Their style of music is refreshing and different from the stuff you hear on
